Hey there...

Hiya! So, I am getting my act together and am starting to spend more time on mosaic and making a concentrated effort to post a little blog action here more often than not...so here goes!

I am super excited to report that I had a creative breakthrough this weekend and caught a wave of creative energy and started working on my torso project again...check out the attached images! She is so much further along than the last time I posted pics. And I think she is going to be my first "Garden Girlie"...with more to come!

Also, I will get the Etsy thing done very, very soon. I promise. It's hanging over my head and I can't stop thinking about it, but something always seems to get in the way! So...will someone please kick me in the rear and make me do it already? LOL

How Time Flies!

Wow! How time flies! There have been lots of changes in my life lately and, consequently, at the Seriously Whimsical Studio. However, I am thrilled to report that I have a new roommate--who has been a friend of mine for more than half of my life--and she loves to play with broken glass too, so I am hoping we will be making more time for mosaics very soon!

I also just facilitated a FANTASTIC mobile mosaic party for Lorena and her family. What a marvelous group of women--the youngest of whom was 3 years old! Each person created a unique mosaic frame in tribute to the family's matriarch who recently passed away. I will post some pictures soon so that you can admire their creations. There was much laughter and creativity at Lorena's that afternoon!

I have a series of new pieces to post on my web site and will try to get the images posted ASAP. And I have been meaning to get my Etsy store up and running...alas, life has gotten in the way a bit. The good news is that I have some wonderful pieces to post there and commit here publicly to getting them up by the end of this coming weekend.

I hope you are all well and finding ways to create beauty in your own lives!

Greetings from HOT-lanta!

My day job has me visiting Atlanta for the next couple of days, so no mosaic for me, but I am using the travel time to think of a concept for my friend Kelly's kitchen table. It's currently got some "lovely" sort of country-themed tiles that need to be replaced with some vibrant colors to match Kelly's vibrant and bubbly personality. I am thinking some variegated monochromatic stripes...oranges, reds, with yellow and colbalt blue accents.

Hmmmm...I'm thinking of a design Kell! Wish me luck at my big meeting!

First REAL Blog Entry!

It's been such an amazing couple of days! Today I facilitated my first Mobile Mosaic Party(tm) and it was a blast! I was so fortunate to spend the afternoon with a great family who obviously adore one another. Thanks for such a great start to my Mobile Mosaic Party(tm) season! I am anxious to do the next one! I am currently booking parties in late April and mid-May. Let me know if you are interested...I can create a project type to meet any time constraint or budget!

My business cards are on their way to me and I can't wait to have them in hand. Thanks to Barb for the fantastic design and her tireless ability to tweak the design to fit a variety of web formats. I just got a shipment of red stained glass and will be working on your gazing ball soon!

I upgraded www.seriouslywhimsical.com and launched an Etsy.com store and started this blog. I've also made some time in the studio and have 5 pieces waiting to be grouted plus "Muse" is beginning to take shape. To see updated status pictures, check out www.seriouslywhimsical.com.  I've located two different artist workshops that I plan to take this summer as well, so it's sure to be an exciting summer!
